February Newsletter

Dear LAVMC Members,

We are off and running for 2022! Our January meeting dinner was provided

by Gina Kopcrak and Kim Iness. The lasagna was amazing ladies! We had two

new members join us, Greg and Rory Baldwin, and we want to extend a warm

welcome to them.

Olga Reed and Orcutt schools sent a thank you letter for our donation to their garden restoration project. We look forward to an update on their improvements.

Kim shared the goal of making the Men’s Club the hub of Los Alamos, once again. Part of making this goal happen is to have more events during the year. To name a few, dances, BBQ’s, Cook Your Owns, and sporting events.

The club's first sporting event of the year is a Superbowl party on Sunday

February 13th, at 2 p.m. There is no charge, and is open to members and non-

members. Bring your own favorite dish for potluck. The bar will be open and the

bbq pits will be lit if you want to use them. All ages are welcome. Come hang out

with your neighbors!

The club clean up day was a huge success! We had way more help than

was expected and accomplished almost the entire ‘to-do’ list. Closets, storage

rooms and cupboards – there is now a sense of organization! The backyard also

received a scrubbing and looks amazing! The goal is to have the club sparkling

and thanks to the following people, we are that much closer!

Kylin Bray, Kasi Maguire, Timm Maguire, David and Susan Sorensen, Dan

and Kim Iness, Deanna Hearth, Gina Kopcrak, Kristy Williams, Zach Perron,

Rory Baldwin, Brandon Bakke, Brad Vidro, Billy King, Barbara Landon, Pete and

Linda Kopcrak, Rob and Stephanie Cooper, Frank and Kim Costa, Susette

Bennett, Shirley Williams, John Traller and Raul.

The next big calendar event is the building fund bingo scheduled for

February 18th. The building fund bingo is just one of the ways we will be raising

money for future projects. Join us on the 18th for some bingo fun… Hot dogs and

nachos will be available to purchase. Pre-sale tickets are $15.00 - at the door

$20.00. Tickets will be available from Shirley, Kim, Kristy, and Sandra before the

event. We are still in need of bake sale items and raffle donations. Contact

Shirley Williams for more information on how to help, at 805-478-0789.

March 6th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a Vitalant blood drive held at

the Club. You can go to: vitalant.org and enter the blood drive code of (Alamos)

to schedule an appointment or call 805-542-8500.

If you joined us at our last ‘Cook Your Own” and had a great time – then you

will be happy to know the next one is scheduled for March 25th.

The 2022 Old Days planning will begin in March. The first meeting date will

be announced at the next club meeting. If you are interested in chairing a

committee or just helping in general, please join us in March.
