June Newsletter 2023

Greetings LAVMC Members!

Hard to believe that we are halfway through the calendar year already.

May’s general meeting dinner was prepared and served by the Costa Family. As always, Frank was found by the BBQ pit, and they made true Portuguese meal of Linguica Sandwiches. Thank you to Anita and Kristy for helping to clean up! Our next general membership meeting is on Thursday, June 15th. The Bar opens at 5:30 and dinner is served at 6:15. The meeting will start at 7pm sharp. June’s dinner will be prepared by Rob Cooper and Ray Williams. This dinner is EXTRA special because the kid’s caught it. Just see the photo below for proof. I hear it is going to be fish tacos! Come to the meeting yourself to find out.

The countdown is on, and we are getting closer to Old Days every single minute! Please help us out by promoting the event- share anything we share on social media. The more widespread we can get the word out, the better the event will be. Remind people that we are BACK ON BELL! Our Old Days theme for 2023 is ‘Red, White, and ‘Country’. We need plenty of volunteers to help out with Old Days, please email Kristy ( if you are interested in volunteering!

We have our final bingo fundraiser to celebrate Old Days being “Back on Bell” coming up on June 23rd at 7pm with doors opening at 6pm. $1,300 dollars in cash prizes will be given away at bingo with many thanks to our sponsors listed below! If you would like to purchase a ticket, they are $25 pre-sale and include 15 games plus a sammy box. Please call Shirley (805) 478-0789, Ray (805)868-8795, or Kristy (805)610-3360.

If you are available to help with bingo, we are looking for volunteers for set up and break down. You can fill out the “Volunteer Opportunities” link below to give us your info and someone will contact you! Volunteer Opportunities

Or if you are looking for way to help the club or just want some feel good volunteer hours use the link to volunteer for the current needs of the club as well as a way to let us know the ways that you would like to help in the future.

Member Shout Out!

We wanted to take a moment to appreciate Brad Vidro for his great efforts in bringing excitement to the historical committee. Our town is rich with history and there is so much to be appreciated and recognized. We thank him for ensuring that we don’t miss anything!
