July Newsletter

Dear LAVMC Members,

Hello to all our new members! We are happy to have you join us!

Our June dinner chef was Barbara Landon. Thank you so much for the

awesome dinner! We are lucky to have such great cooks feed us each month.

This month’s dinner meeting is being hosted by Dan Iness and Pete

Kopcrak. Their dinner menu is being whispered about and referred to as ‘BBQ

Chicken A La Bueno.’ If I were joking around, I would say, eat at your own risk.

But someone might think it was a true warning and it wouldn’t be. I swear! I

promise their wives will make sure we eat well!

For our Thursday, July 21st meeting, the Bar will open at 5:30, dinner will be served at

6:15, and the meeting will begin at 7:00 sharp. We have a request for funds we will be

discussing and voting on. Our upcoming elections will also be discussed. If you

are interested in running for an office, please attend Thursday night for more

information. All terms are for two years, and the new term begins January 2023.

Currently we will be holding elections for the Directors offices of President,

Secretary, Building Manager (Steward), and one Director at Large.

Old Days 2022 Update: All our committee chairs have been hard at work,

and they are the absolute best. Their main goal is to make Old Days 2022 the

best it can be, and they are on track to be a success. All the entertainment has

been booked, all the ribbons and prizes have been ordered, advertising began

this week, posters are designed, book is being prepped, car show, artisan Faire,

and parade applications are out. If I missed something, please remind me! We

will have sign up sheets for that weekend, soon. It takes many volunteers to

make it all come together. Please consider signing up for a two-hour shift during

that weekend. We need all the hands-on deck we can gather!

Event updates:

Spring Fling was a major success! The club raised over $29,400.00 and

those funds were split between our donation, general, and Bob Berkemeir

Building funds.

Cook Your Own was once again great food and even better company. The

next one will be in 2023 and the date will be announced soon.

Sunday September 18th is a club clean up day in preparation for Old Days.

Music in the Park is Friday July 29. It’s a bring your own food, drinks,

snacks, chair, and blanket event. Come get to know your neighbors and enjoy an

evening listening to live music. Music begins at 7pm.

If you have any photos or information, you would like highlighted on our

social media platforms, please contact Gina Kopcrak at ginakopcrak@gmail.com.
